In our recent Publishing area update, we have added a new Tab called 'IP Chain' into Works.
This tab allows you to enter detailed Publishing information broken down by Territories, Publisher & Composers.
This includes:
Publisher Capacity
Composer Capacity
Publisher Controlled
Composer Controlled
Mechanical Owned %
Performance Owned %
Mechanical Collection %
Performance Collection %
Each IP Chain is the visualisation of each set of Territories and the rights owners & collectors relevant to them, allowing you to view/enter the rights of each entity for areas that you as a rights holder/administrator own or collect - as well as the parties separate to you.
Simply put, this allows you to see the full picture of what rights are owned, where and by who.
The advantages of this are being able to store, review and update full copyright chains and their interested parties names, roles and shares. This leads to a better understanding of the ownership and relationships relating to each Publishing Copyright, meaning sync and publishing deals can agreed with much clearer understanding of each interested party and their role(s).
To fill out the IP Chain section, you can:
- Manually input in the UI
- Import in bulk via an Import Template
- Import via an API connection
Once you have filled out/completed the IP Chain section, you can:
- Export in bulk via an Export Template to register with partners
- Deliver to an external platform via an API connection
