Term Comment
Title The assigned name that you give to an Asset. This can be the name of the release as the lead track but can often be unrelated to the Release title.
Type The type of Asset recording as put. The selection is between Audio, Video and Stem. Selecting the Type will alter what information is required by rightsHUB
Version The variation title of the Asset. This normally notes the difference from the original asset. This can range from 'Radio Edit' to 'Extended Version' to 'VIP Remix' and much more.
Original/Remix The distinction tag which identifies if the Asset is the original version or a remix/re-edit of any sort
ISRC The unique International Standard Recording Code assigned to the asset. Should be in the format: CC-XXX-YY-NNNNN. "CC" is the appropriate two-character country code for the ISRC issuer
"XXX" is a three character alphanumeric registrant code of the ISRC issuer (This can given by an ISRC agency or through Distributors)
"YY" represent the last two digits of the reference year - Year that the ISRC was assigned to the recording
"NNNNN" is a 5-digit number that identifies the particular sound or video recording, unique within the scope of the reference year
Label Name The full name of the release label for the Asset. They are responsible for the release of the music and collecting of revenue from the relevant usage.
Duration The Minutes and Seconds length of the uploaded Asset file.
Primary Artists The major artist(s) who appear on the Asset. Multiple Artists can be added under this field.
Featuring Artists The supporting artist(s) who appear on the Asset. Multiple Artists can be added under this field.
Primary Genre The key genre of the music as heard within the Asset. Only one can be entered and must be chosen from the pre-populated list.
Secondary Genre The sub-genre of the music music as heard within the Asset. Multiple minor genres can be entered (although only one is recommended) and any genre can be typed in.
P Line The purpose of a ? notice is to signify that rights exist in a sound recording and to identify the owner of those rights. For instance, ? notices are displayed on all copies of a sound recording – whether physical or digital. In the physical version of a song, the ? notice usually appear on the cover art of the CD, while on digital copies the ? notice will appear in the metadata associated with the file.
Explicit The identicator tag that notes if the Asset contains Explicit language or imagery. Mark 'Yes' if contained, 'Clean' if previously present but censored and 'None' if no Explicit content is contained in any form.
Preview Start Time The time (in seconds) which the preview on digital stores will start to play from.
Preorder Previews The identification tag that previews of Assets once delivered to DSPs are permitted or not.
Instrumental A Yes/No entry which distinguishes if the Asset contains spoken/lyrical content or if the Asset is created only with instruments.
Language of Performance The main language is required by all services and should be recorded here.
Allow Pre Order A Yes/No entry which indicates if you wish for the Asset to be previewed on digital stores or if you want this feature disabled.
Available Separately A Yes/No entry which determines if an Asset will be made available separate from the Release itself. This should be 'Yes' in most secarinos - as 'Yes' does not restrict plays.
Audio (Audio + Stem Only) The area where audio files are uploaded, stored, played and made downloadable. Audio Assets can also be removed, replaced or converted into an MP3.
Video (Video Only) The area where video files are uploaded, stored, played and made downloadable. Video Assets can also be removed or replaced here.
Price Tier The intended pricing level for the Asset. For more information on pricing tiers please contact your Distributor.
Mood The feeling and/or emotion you prescribe to a recording. The purpose of this information is mostly based on Sync purposes such as easy identification of suitable tracks for consideration - allowing you to gather and recommend suitable tracks/compositions with ease.
Emotion The strong feeling and/or emotion you think is projected by the Assets. The purpose of this information is mostly based on Sync purposes such as easy identification of suitable Assets/Stems for consideration - allowing you to gather and recommend suitable tracks/compositions with ease.
Lyrics The written record of spoken/sung vocal content. This is a mandatory field for deliveries to Apple - as long as the track is not an instrumental.
Rights Holder Company The company/person who is contractually enabled to hold the copyright to the Asset.
Country of Recording The country which the Asset was recorded in.
Country of Commission The country which the Asset was licensed in.
Label Code A custom identifier code which your label may have set for themselves. Not Mandatory
PPL ID Number The relevant identifier code relating to PPL Membership best associated the Asset.
Rights Holder Rights Type The type of relationship the rights holder of the Asset has to the Asset as set out within the relevant contract.
Repertoire Ownership The type of relationship the rights owner of the Asset has to the Asset as set out within the relevant contract along with pre-existing conditions.
Rights Start Date The date agreed as the day the the associated rights ownership/holdership agreement comes into effect, as set out within the relevant contract.
Rights End Date The date agreed as the day the the associated rights ownership/holdership agreement ceases to apply, as set out within the relevant contract.
Recording Location The area which the recording of the asset was made. This can be the Studio, Town/City or Country which the recording took place.
Recording Year The calendar year which the recording of the asset happened within. This is not the same as the year the track was released/re-released.
(Performer) Name The full name of the performer on the Asset. It is recommended that real names are used as opposed to artist names although this is not strict.
(Performer) Type The type of said performer on the Asset. Their type is determined by what capacity they appear on the asset in.
(Performer) Role The role or rather instrument played by the said performer on the Asset. As well as instrumental roles, this can also include Vocals, Authoring or Composing as roles.
Linked Works The Work(s) relevant to the Asset as linked from the Works area. This area allows you to link pre-existing Work registrations to the relevant Asset.
