Term | Comment |
Title | The assigned name that you give to a Work. This can be the name of the intended Audio Asset but can sometimes be unrelated to an Asset title. |
Alternative Title | The assigned alternative names that you give to a Work. Works can have multiple titles, and this feature allows you to add as many as you like - separated by a semicolon. |
Samples Contained? | The identification tag used to show if the Work has samples contained as part of the composition or if it does not. This can be important when looking to license works. |
Work Creation Date | The date which the Work was created on. |
Registration Date | The date which the Work was first registered. Registration often takes place with a Publisher or when first submitted to a PRO. |
Rights Start Date | The date which the rights relating to the Work first came into effect as per the relevant contract. |
ISWC | The ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code) is a unique and internationally recognised reference number for the identification of works. If you don't have one assigned, contact your Publisher or registered PRO. |
Tunecode | A Tunecode is a unique code allocated by the performing rights society, which you use to register the Work with to help earn & claim your performance and mechanical royalties. |
Alternative Identifiers | These are custom set identifiers which can be assigned to the Work. These can be internal or issued from elsewhere. Multiple alternative identifiers can be added to a Work. Separate each with a semicolon. |
Lyrics | The written & intended spoken lyrical content of the Work. These can differ from the Lyrics found on an eventual Asset. |
Territories | The countries and regions that the Work will be available/licensed in if released. |
Composer | The person(s) who have contributed to the writing of the Work. Name and external identifiers can be entered in the 'Composers' area, with names drawn from the Contacts section. |
Share % | The percentage share that each composer of the Work has claim to as per contractual/mutual agreement. |
Role | The role or rather intended instrument played by the said performer on the Work. As well as instrumental, this can also include Vocals, Authoring or Composing as roles. |
Publisher | The company/entity associated with the Publishing rights of the composer as agreed via contract. |
Right To Collect | The identification tag used to show if the composer has the right to collect royalties from the Work and its exploitation or if they do not. |
Unknown Writer | The identification tag used to show if there is another composer/writer who contributed to the Work but their full details are not known at time of work registration. |
Composer Name | The full name of the composer - usually separate to the artist name as would appear on an Asset or Release. The name can also be entered in separate parts below this entry. |
CAE NO | An IPI/CAE number is a nine-digit international identification number assigned to songwriters and publishers to uniquely identify the correct rights holders. |
Main PRO | The main Performance Rights Organisation that a Composer or Publisher is registered with. Each country has their own PRO but please list your main PRO here. |
Mechanical PRO | The Performance Rights Organisation that a Composer or Publisher is registered with for the collection of mechanical royalties. |
Performance PRO | The Performance Rights Organisation that a Composer or Publisher is registered with for the collection of performance royalties. |
Agreement Type | The sort of agreement that has been made between a Composer & Publisher (or Label) relating to if all Works are assigned to a rights-holder or if an agreement only applies to a select number of Works. |
